Guided both Monday and Wednesday. Fishing on Monday was tough with a lot of short bites and small fish. Shallow weeds in 3-6’ gave up one decent walleye and some nice panfish. Also fished some humps with scattered wood and found a few more small walleye, but nothing livewell worthy. With heavy mid-day wind and waves we decided to fish sheltered areas with shoreline weeds which gave us a few more nice panfish. Wednesday we started by fishing shallow wood and rock structure and this gave us a couple small walleyes as well as a decent one. We then fished a mud to rock transition in 9-11’ and found a good number nice-sized perch and a couple of walleye mixed in. Hopefully this helps people find some fish.

Report from last 3 days: The most aggressive walleye have been coming out of shallower water (2'-4') with wood and weeds even during mid-day. Still catching a few in the 5'-10' range, but where I was fishing it seems the fish in this depth were a little sluggish and weren't nearly as aggressive as earlier in the week. Perch were relating to similar structure as walleye but in depths between 18"-10' . Both perch and walleye were caught on jig and nightcrawler. Hope this helps someone find fish, next report will be in about a week. -Matt |
